Yesterday's prom seemed pretty fun from the pictures that people took. Well, I was pretty taken aback at how some people wore their gowns. Haha, some do look really gorgeous in the slinky black dresses but others look like dumplings. However, I guess the real essence of the whole prom seem to lie in the fact that people do like the idea of dressing up, interacting with one other, and seeing others different from how they usually look like. Its nice feeling all grown up and stuff, wearing gowns to balls with all those dangling ear-rings and necklaces. Despite the rather 'ulu' venue the school has chosen, all have enjoyed the event because they found joy in it. But for people like us, who do not find much joy in getting all constricted in such events, we might not really like it and I am glad no one forces me to go.

Ok, 2nd torture used by the Opus Dei Cult to cleanse themselves, As described in the website : a cord-like whip which resembles macrame, used on the buttocks or back once a week. Opus Dei members must ask permission to use it more often, which many do. The story is often told in Opus Dei that the Founder was so zealous in using the discipline, he splattered the bathroom walls with streaks of blood.

So as to prove my cult stuff, here is something used by the Opus Dei Cult to 'cleanse' themselves. It was described in The Da Vinci Code as a belt with spikes used by Silas to relief his agony. Posted by Hello

Half way through my reading of The Da Vinci Code, I was exceptionally interested in the cults the author mentioned, like the Opus Dei and the free-masons. For those who don't know, whatever that Dan Brown had mentioned inside his book are real. The cults he mentioned are authentic because I went online to check up on them.

Well, these cults are really scary. If you go up on their official website, they glorify their founder, tell you some stuff about their way of viewing the bible, quoting sermons and lines sprouting from their founder. It just sends shiver down my spine. Take for example, I believe most will know Scientology, the church-cult that Tom Cruise joins. There were many cases that involves the church overly extorts money from its members, unknown deaths among its members, many involved in dying due to abusing, poisoning of their members when they want to leave the cult.

Its just kind of sad to see these young people believing in such cults. It is true that we all do need some kind of spiritual solace, but cults may not be the answer to these spiritual needs. Cults often indoctrinate your mind with ideas that fit the founder's perception of the religion and make you believe in his perception. Physically abusing oneself and alienating oneself will not help in purify one's soul. It is only when you feel internally and physically enlightened, purified because you understood what the religious scripts are putting across then will you be relieved off all your burdens. But humans just do not feel obliged to believe in these religious scripts that are placed in front of them. They choose to believe in how they feel that these wordings of the script should be interpreted. And this resulted in much deaths like the Ohm's cult in Japan killed millions of Japanese when they released sarine gasin in the underground subway. May I ask, when did any mainstream religion promote death? The bible doesn't, the Koran doesn't, the Buddhist scriputres doesn't, then who does? People who so-called-mis-interpreted the scriptures? Oh Gosh!

Practicality vs dreams
ok, I was really frustrating over what JC to choose for the first 3 mths, then I was enlightened. Let me share with you my enlightened thoughts.

(i) Imagine you just received your PSLE scores. You scored 242. Yippeeeee.... because that was a BIG surprise for you for you are one who does not usually do well in class, gets about 60-70 marks for your tests. So 242 is a pretty reasonable and good score for you. Months ago, you thought of going to Victoria School. You like Victoria School, you want to go for their all rounded programme but 242 is not getting you into the school. As you received the application form for secondary education, you wonder if you should go for you dream school or a more practical school like TKSS. Of course, you will not want to waste your first choice putting some school that is really hard to get, but you just want to enter it. Its a kind of desire for you to want something better but you are torn between dreams and practicality. Ok, so that was a example

If you don't know what to choose for first 3mths, then let me tell you what I chose instead. I chose to fufil my dreams. [:

(ii) Excerpt from some book

...And people who believe in God think God has put human beings on the earth because they think human beings are the best animal, but human beings are just an animal and they will evolve into another animal, and that animal will be clever and it will put human beings into a zoo, like we put chimpanzees and gorillas into a zoo. Or human beings will all catch a disease and die out or they will make too much pollution and kill themselves, and then there will only be insects in the world and they will be the best animal.

(iii) Excerpt from the same book
...Also people think they're not computers because they have feelings and computers don't have feelings. But feelings are you having a picture on the screen in your head of what is going to happen tomorrow or next year, or what might have happened instead of what did happen, and it it is a happy picture they smile and if it is a sad picture they cry. Yet people always think, they are better than the computers and they are the highest animal in the food chain. Oh, what proud human beings we are.

Cartoon vs Reality
Hmpf.... Its true that I gave up on watching cartoon since I was at *I think* P4 or maybe P2. XinYi just complains that I have grown up too quickly. Well, I kind of agree on it. At one point in my life, I thought cartoon was rather stupid shows because they will never happen in real life. Come on, do you think that there are such things like Pikachu? Wake up!
Yet, upon deeper realisation, cartoons put forward another dimension of ideas. Almost all cartoons have a common theme- The good will always triumph over the evil. The Incredibles kills the bad guy in the end, Ash defeats Team Rocket and Jimmy Neutron always saves the day. Our society now needs to instil such a belief in people. We can eradicate the terrorist from the world if only the world believe in a common belief. After the 911 incident, countries and people began to question their abilities. Are we capable enough to defeat Osama? Yes we are but we must unite! Leaders of the world get together! Prevent more war from happening! Come on!

Yay! Its me again after my long break due to GREAT distractions from my SIMS game. Just completed the series of Bridget Jones Diary I & II and I kind of thought that the way she writes in her diary is so similar to how we blog, except that she writes it out but we type! Haha generation gap. I love that book because she sounds so witty and hilarious and have utter craving for sex but is deprived of having. Haha. People, read it!

I say:
one. Don't quit
two. Don't dream
three. Don't stop
four. Don't drop
five. Don't procrastinate
six. Don't do
seven. Don't think
eight. Dont go
nine. Don't see
ten. Don't be

But some how, if life is going be full of these don't, then it will be really BORING. Someone please tell me to stop saying don't. I hate myself.

At last I have decided to leave my Sims game to blog on. After the tense US presidential elections, Bush won which I have rejoiced for the night. But for now, it all boils down to what can Bush do. US troops just raided Fallujah( some Iraq city) yesterday. Its kind of sad that people have to live in a war torn country like Iraq. My 2003 and 2004's new year resolution was for world peace( that was not supposed to sound like some Miss Universe cliche talk!) But it seemed rather far fetched. Don't your heart just ache for those you see on TV, running out of a bombed building, holding their bloody head and suddenly fainting on the dirty streets. Huang Na's death can make hundreds of Singaporeans mourn and cry for her. How about those millions of death in Iraq and Isreali? They don't deserve to die so young and to be a nameless soul in the piles of corpse.

May peace soon regain to the world. Allah.

Yeah!!! Chinese is over~ Wee...today was like a freaking wet day when it just rained and rained. Then, I spotted a few people(whom I shall not mentioned) whom I have seen taking the Chinese exam for the past 2 times and this is their 3rd try for Chinese. I was kind of pretty taken aback by their perserverence in doing something all the way to the end. One of them have got B3 for the past 2 exams and seem to want to really try for a A1. Although she doesn't show it on the outside for her desire to do her best, but her actions seem to speak louder than her words. I respect her for that. Well, all the best for her O'level Chinese and hope that she will acheive her A1 for this exam!!! Good luck!

The following is an excerpt from a entry that I got from my sister's friend's blog. His history is damn powerful. Oh, if only I could write something like that for history too.

How would the world see Hitler if World War Two ended in Germany's favour? We would probably find the answer in Hitler's own words:
"The victor will not be asked, later on, whether he told the truth or not. In starting and waging a war, it is not Right that matters but Victory. Have no pity."
How would the world be like today... if Britain had agreed to Hitler's demands and formed an anti-Communism alliance against Soviet Union?
How would the world be like today... if Britain had agreed to Stalin's request and formed a military alliance against Hitler even before the latter began his conquest of Europe?
Would World War Two have taken place?
Would the Cold War have taken place?
